"Here is one of the rare breed of contemporary artists, humble enough to acknowledge that he works for a genius that far surpasses him.  Indeed he works for the genius that created him! At last we have work that transmits the intelligent intuitions of the original artist."

Hailed by the TimeOut as 'Master Geometer', Stephen is one of the leading lights in the global revival of traditional and perennial arts.  Following a period of time working as an architect, Stephen decided to return to education to do a MA in Fine Art.  Alongside this he delved deeply into subjects such as Islamic Geometry (from Thabit), Western Esoteric tradtions of environmantal metaphysics (Sacred Space), Vastu Shastra, Feng Shui and the ancient Japanese art of Sangaku. Thus birthing his passion for working with the ancient language of sacred geometry.

"My passion for pattern" he said, "was born from a need to express an inner reality of deep love. This love has become a reference point for me that both represents the known and the unknown and it also represents the heavenly flower that is forever opening within us all."

In 1995 Stephen started using the term 'holism' to describe his style of alagorical painting. Holism is a term used by quantum theorist David Bohm to describe the implicate order in nature. Stephen's art is a celebration of the divine order and connection between all things through subtle symbolic representation.

"People often say that my paintings remind them of illuminated Celtic art works, Islamic mosaic's and Tibetan mandala's.  The language of geometry is both inclusive of all of these traditions and also transends tribal and religious division.  My work celebrates the return to unity and wholeness which I believe is the sacred pathway of the twenty first century."
